The Bard Math Circle STEM Tutor Network offers quality tutoring to pre-college students in-person and through online videoconferences.
Our tutors are Bard College undergraduates and graduates, who come from all over the world, bringing high levels of expertise and intellectual engagement.
Whether your student needs an extra boost to succeed in class, or is interested in exploring above and beyond, we are excited to work with them. We aim to provide top quality tutoring at the affordable rate of $25 per one hour session. We do offer financial aid for those who qualify. We are grateful for your support of this venture.
We are now primarily tutoring in person! Originating in 2020 during the educational shutdowns resulting from the pandemic, the network started only with math, only online. In 2024, we are tutoring mostly in person, and we’ve continued to deepen students’ appreciation and understanding of their studies, and have expanded to include tutoring in Computer Science, Physics, and other STEM subjects.

Our Team:
My Name is Morgan Ruhle (she/her/hers), and I’m a senior mathematics student at Bard! I am the coordinator of the Bard Math Circle, so I handle matching students with tutors, and other organizational tasks. I am a member of the Bard women's lacrosse team. I also play viola in the Bard College Community Orchestra. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at mr1348@bard.edu!
Hi! I am Prottoy Samir and I am sophomore at Bard, as of 2022, intending to major in Physics and Mathematics. During my high-school days, I found myself fascinated in participating in many math competitions and Physics Olympiads. A large part of my critical thinking skills have developed through these experiences. So I took myself to spreading my knowledge to others by being a tutor myself. I have taught middle-school and high-school students and I also run a side project where I am aiming to create a YouTube channel containing video-lectures on Physics topics in simple and understandable language. Check it out at Physix Daily.
Hello, my name is Chloe Dufeu and I am a first year at Bard. I grew up in New York City. I am planning on being a joint major in physics and math. I have always enjoyed working with children and have much experience tutoring children in math as well as other subjects. Some of my hobbies are dance, music, and knitting/crocheting.
Hi! I’m Husna, and this is my second year at Bard. I’m planning to major in computer science, and become a software engineer! I started tutoring math at Bard College at Simon’s Rock, and tutored Precalculus and Calculus I. I love working with kids and have been teaching my little cousins math and coding for two years. I want to make math and coding a fun experience for everyone. When I'm free, I love designing silly games in Unity, go running with my friend, and do landscape painting 🙂
My name is Yaroslav Valchyshen. I am junior at Bard College, double majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics. I am from Ukraine, where I had been working as a software engineer at a game development company before I moved to United States. When it comes to my experience in tutoring, I used to work as a Peer Math tutor at Dutchess Community College. My main hobbies are programming, math, and gym.
